Best Season to Climb

Requires good physical fitness and stamina, but no technical climbing skills.
Slow pace (“pole pole”) and proper acclimatization are key to summit success.

Accommodation
In Moshi/Marangu area: Hotels and lodges available pre- and post-climb.
On the mountain:
Marangu Route: Huts with simple dormitory-style beds and communal dining.
Machame, Lemosho, Rongai & other routes: Comfortable tented camps set up by trekking teams.

Weather & Temperature
At 4,000m: Daytime ~15°C; Night ~-10°C.
At Summit: Daytime ~5°C; Night ~-18°C to -22°C.

Additional Information
Treks are fully guided, with support staff carrying equipment and supplies.
Rescue services are available on some routes (e.g., Marangu).
Recommended to book at least 6 months in advance during high season.
Minimum age: 12 years (recommended).
